The job
What is commercial garden maintenance?
Commercial garden maintenance is looking after the outside spaces of an estate, complex, church or business on a regular schedule, so they look right every week and not only after a big clean-up. With Top Trimmers that means lawns mown and edged, flower beds cleaned, light pruning, and the garden debris taken away as part of the service.
You choose how often we come: weekly, fortnightly or monthly, or a once-off clean-up when a site has got away from you. We work Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, and it's our own team that does the work.
Bigger jobs fit in too. For Canal West, a homeowners' association (HOA) in Sunningdale and a past client, we cleaned all of their parks, cleared their front entrances, landscaped the front entrance and then watered it for a couple of months. Irrigation systems are done by the irrigation expert we have on hand.

A lot of shared outside space
Cape Town's northern suburbs are full of grounds that someone has to look after. In Table View, developers have replaced many older houses with sectional title schemes (complexes where each owner has a unit and the grounds are shared), and simplexes and duplexes are popular. Sunningdale was planned with houses, apartments and gated villages, including security estates such as Broadstone. In Durbanville, former farmland has become large gated estates like Pinehurst, Graanendal and Clara Anna Fontein.

Watering shared grounds
Under the City's Water By-law, gardens may only be watered before 9am or after 6pm, and automated sprinklers must be adjustable so they don't waste water. That matters on a big site with sprinklers on timers.

How do you price commercial garden maintenance?
Top Trimmers prices every commercial site in Cape Town on its own, from photos or a site visit, by the size of the grounds and how often we come. The quote is free, there's no VAT because we're not VAT registered, and you can pay by EFT or cash.
Do you look after estate parks and entrances?
Yes. For Canal West HOA in Sunningdale, a past client, Top Trimmers cleaned all of their parks, cleared their front entrances, landscaped the front entrance and watered it for a couple of months. We've also worked for Canal East HOA, and we can look after an estate's shared parks, lawns and entrances in Cape Town on a regular schedule.
